Whilst a Hippo Mat has descended from the Hippo Gods, crammed with creativity and fun, ultimately it’s a play mat themed to where YOU live. As such, it makes sense you have your say as to what goes on in the design.
Here’s just five on the changes we’ve made recently, all based on your AWESOME feedback. Keep your suggestions coming, lovely people! We love hearing from you and co-creating these cool play mats together. It also helps us keep the play mats up-to-date with the ever-changing landscape of real life.

- Suggestion: Captain Tom Moore
- Number of Times Suggested: 5+
- Location: Bedford
- Tidbit: Did you know Captain Tom Moore raised over £30 million (and counting!) for NHS charities by walking laps around his garden?! What an absolute legend!
2
- Suggestion: Seal
- Number of Times Suggested: 3+
- Location: Southend
- Tidbit: If you're ever in Southend-on-Sea during seal pup season, you might spot some cute little seal pups sunbathing on the beach. Just make sure to keep your distance and let them rest, they'll thank you for it.

- Suggestion: Canterbury Cathedral
- Number of Times Suggested: 50+
- Location: Canterbury
- Tidbit: Did you know that Canterbury Cathedral has a unique feature where it has a staircase with uneven steps? The Legend of the Miracle of the Black Prince says that fi you climb the steps without stumbling, your wish will be granted. Sounds like a fun challenge to me!
4
- Suggestion: Cardington Sheds (with R31 Airship)
- Number of Times Suggested: 10+
- Location: Bedford
- Tidbit: The R31 airship (which was built in these sheds) was the first one to cross the Atlantic without stopping in 1919 - and it was built right here in the UK! It's impressive to think about the technology and bravery it took to complete such a journey almost 100 years ago.

- Suggestion: Creaky Bus Play Equipment
- Number of Times Suggested: Just once 🙂
- Location: Toddler's Cove, Canterbury
- Tidbit: Toddlers Cove Park in Canterbury is a great place to take the little ones for a picnic and some playtime. And did you know it used to be used for the annual Christchurch fair? Talk about a rich history!
